Our Business
We are a small town family business. It is our stand that just selling seed is not enough. We are an exclusive Pioneer Corn Seed dealer that can offer you Alfalfa, and a variety of Grass Seed. However we believe in more than just dropping off the seed and collecting a check. We will never bill you until you're done planting. We will always offer advice and valuable information when asked.
As we are a Pioneer dealer we have access to Pioneer’s massive knowledge base of Agronomy Information and even have several regional agronomists we can call on. If you have any seed or agronomy questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Kirby McFarland (Owner/President/Sales)
I was born and raised in Idaho and have been involved in agriculture my entire life. My dad worked for Meyers Bros. when they first started to grow corn in the Rexburg area. When I was a teenager the Teton Dam broke and my dad saw an opportunity and started a laser land leveling business. I worked with him in the summer and worked at a cattle feedlot in Roberts during the winter.
Around 1988 I took a job working for a local feedlot and farming operation. I soon worked my way into a farm manager position where I gained about 18 years of experience growing corn silage. Over the years I was also able to work with my family on the farm, which was very important to me. Where we were able to learn the hard work and dedication it takes to operate a farm as a family.
In 2004 the Pioneer Dealer came to me looking to retire and sell his dealership. I saw a great opportunity to work for myself and interact with other farmers to help promote a product that I've used and believe in. In 2008 I became the official Exclusive Pioneer Seed Dealer in Southeast Idaho. I've really enjoyed working with everyone I've meet and what I do.

Nan McFarland (Owner & Secretary)
I grew up in Idaho around the agriculture community. My dad farmed for his entire life and as a young woman I would work with him during potato harvest and whenever he would need me. Later when Kirby was growing silage I would drive truck and work with him during corn harvest. My other duties include keeping him and my three sons fed and hydrated. My main post ion has always been the stay at home mom. I've always enjoyed the fact that our family works together and plays together.
Currently I work mornings at the post office in Rigby. During the afternoons I will load & unload seed as well as take some phone calls when the guys are out with customers.
David Hodges (Salesperson)
I live in the New Sweden area West of Idaho Falls, where I operate a small farm of my own. I also have a custom manure spreading business I started in 1995 then added a custom silage harvesting business in 2003. I really enjoy the custom business because it allows me to meet others in the Agriculture Industry. I feel this gives me an insight as to what it takes to make ends meet in Agriculture today and as a result I am looking forward to working with McFarland Seed Service offering top of the line Pioneer Products in the area from Idaho Falls to American Falls. Please feel free to call me anytime at 208-390-4185 or e-mail me at davidh@mcfarlandseed.com.
